The roman cloister, adjoining the church, is a haven of peace. At the northern gallery, one can admire the work of the second workshop that also worked at the Daurade church in Toulouse.
Exposed in the former sacristy, adjoining the cloister, the Couserans bishop's treasure-room presents 12th and 13th century ivory and silver staffs, the silver reliquary bust of Saint-Lizier and very intricate gold ans silver work.
The Bishop's palace, built during the 17th century, overlooks the town.Both the departemental museum of popular art and the cathedral of "Notre Dame de la Sède", are currently closed for renovation. (open in 2010)A tourist residence has opened inside some of the recently renovated buildings.
This ensemble is completed in the north apsidiole by paintings from the same era illustrating the heavenly Jerusalem.

The church of Saint-Lizier contains an ensemble of 11th century frescoes constituting the first great roman paintings of the pyreneen region. The work of an Italian studio working in St-Lizier around 1080, they show in the lower register an incarnation cycle and in the superior register a college of apostles.
